New signings Family have just delivered some cracking idents for MTV which is their first job through Colonel Blimp. The boys have a background as art directors at top London creative agency Mother followed by a move to Australia to launch their careers with Glue Society. Family came to our attention with the brilliant Mike Mills Air parody “All He Needs” but are already pushing on to bigger things. We are featuring their own 90 second cut here but expect all manner of edits splashed over MTV in the coming months. Kosai06/10/2006 - Permalink
Dougal and Colonel Blimp went to Japan in April and met a lot of very talented directors but the stand out for us both was Kosai Sekine who had just won the Raindance Shorts competition. He had also just made a most excellent ident for this years festival and was looking forward to being showcased in Saatchi’s new directors section at the Cannes Festival where he duly cleaned up. Since then Blimp have persuaded him to let us represent him for music videos and now you can see what all the fuss is about. |
