Waverly, Armand Van Helden & Brendan Benson.

23/05/2005 - Permalink

The Waverly boys have been busy again delivering two new videos for Armand Van Helden and Brendan Benson. AVH is a homage to John Carpenters paranoid classic "They Live" the video also features Jon Watts sister Jessica in a secret cameo. There is a small prize if anyone can spot her as we certainly can't.

Brendan Benson draws on the cartoons of Waverly stalwart Ford and adds them to some charming acoustic performance from Mr Benson. You can view all of Ford's cartoons at http://www.fordcomic.com/

This Thursday sees the premier of Adam Smith's excellent new film "What Goes Up" starring Charlie Creed-Miles in all four featured roles. Charlie is the co-star in Adam's stunning Streets video "Blinded By The Lights"; has also starred in Gary Oldman's "Nil By Mouth" and is becoming known as the Alec Guinness of dance music. Well in this office anyway.

The screening will be at Mr Youngs , 14 D'Arblay St, London W1 between 6.00-10.30pm.

See you down there.

Alastair Siddons has delivered another treat for urban hero Kano and you can see the directors cut on the web site now. Two interesting facts: Kano is a Liverpool supporter and the lovely Nathalie Laren - making her third appearance in a Blimp video after the Streets "Fit But You Know It" and Studio B "I See Girls" - is also a follower of the mighty reds.

Diamond Dogs New Cribs Promo

Its the best yet from Diamond Dog with their xerox animation for The Cribs. Shot on DV then printed out on a jazzy photocopier at 12 frames a second with the whole thing reassembled under a digital stills camera for a while it looked like the boys had bitten off more than they could chew. But a week of sleepless nights and a lot of colouring in they started to make sense of the 2.6 kilometeres of paper. Well worth waiting for this video is a peach.
